“Shadowbox” Wins Honorable Mention Award

Two New Paintings Completed

I went back to my favorite subject, still life.  I had several of these objects in the studio.  The wood shoe, glass insulator and small black jar were found in antique shops, the birds and scissors were my Mother-in-law’s, and the Hot Wheel truck is my grandson’s.

The shadow box and other items were from my imiganation.  A fun painting to do with all the different surfaces and textures to paint.

I attended the ninth annual Native American Pow-wow in Haverhill, MA  on September 11, 2010 and got some great photos. This is a painting of Native American Head Dancer Don Barnaby.   There were several other dancers that I hope to paint in the future.

Art Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley Annual Show

The Art Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley will be holding their 9th annual show from Wednesday, October 27th through Saturday, November 6th.  I will be unveiling three new works at the show.

Location:
Nevins Memorial Library, 305 Broadway, Methuen MA

Show Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 10:00 AM to 8:00PM
Friday and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Artists Reception Thursday, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Good News! Student Works Page Repaired

We have rebuilt the page for the Student Works from August 2009 through June, 2010.  You can see the good work the folks did by clicking on the link at the bottom of the Student Works page.

The work is grouped by artist, and shows the good progress the emerging artists are doing.
